Meeting Summary:

  • The Committee voted on the County Mobile Climbing Wall proposal following feedback from District Clusters re usage. This was agreed unanimously and carried. JR will now seek an appropriate wall to purchase.

  • #Bounceback objectives: plans were finalised on 20th March, with 9 objectives set, including the 5,4,3,2,1 project. The focus is on retaining the adults we already have.
  • County Restructure is going ahead: DCs are in place for Itchen North and to bring New Forest South and East together. New Forest North and West are to be merged and run by Team DC.
  • G&D made a Proposal to purchase OSM and make this available to Districts. This provides real-time data which be used to identify trends and gaps more clearly. The Committee voted on 3 purchasing options and agreed unanimously on option 3 (*see meeting minutes for full details.)
  • JS confirmed that the Leader selection process guidance for WSJ2023 is now in place. A number of financial requests were presented to The Board, all were voted on, agreed and carried unanimously. Project 23 is the Hampshire alternative to the Jamboree, to be offered to unsuccessful WSJ2023 applicants. Once offered WSJ2023 they no longer qualify for Project 23. Three location options for this will be discussed by the Youth Council.
  • The County Treasurer provided the Budget details, with not much to report in the first 3 months of the year.
  • The Committee discussed Trustee Liability and the implications of this to individuals. After discussion, the Committee had mixed views, but agreed that it was worth looking further into the possibilities of restructuring part of the business and how this could work, and the implications/benefits, at a minimal cost outlay. AG will make enquiries.
  • MR advised that the County Conference went very well and thanked Tom, Sam and Peter for the IT support. With 73-75 attendees online the whole time, the feedback received was excellent, a real success!
  • Digital Team confirmed All Hants email addresses now have Zoom accounts and user agreements are in place.
  • The Committee voted on the Coronavirus Recovery Programme proposal, this was approved unanimously and carried. The emails will go out to Districts inviting applications.
