An appointment of a new County Chair was made as Paul Bell has now taken on the role of County Commissioner and cannot do both. The Board appointed Deputy County Chair Tom Bell as the interim County Chair.
Outgoing County Commissioner Martin Mackey gave a Farewell Report and thanked everyone involved in the County Conference.
A Community Update was given with details of the HYPER Launch, Leaders Training, Platinum Jubilee plans for the spring and Good Service Awards.
The Board discussed a new OSM Package with various options highlighted. Decisions regarding renewal pending until a report is provided to the CBoT.
The new County Commissioner submitted his 12-point plan to take Hampshire Scouting forwards to the Board. This included a proposal to split the County into two Clusters, East and West, creating two programme and communications teams.
The Board voted on and agreed two District Mergers:
Waterlooville, Havant and Petersfield Districts will merge into one new District.
Chandlers Ford and Eastleigh will merge into one new District.
A Revised County Constitution paper was submitted to the Board and agreed.
The Ferny Crofts Strategy Document was presented to and accepted by the Board.
The Hampshire Scouts Safety Policy was presented with updates relating to staff/as an employer. This was approved by the Board.
The Grants Committee provided a paper on new provision funding and updated the Board on Grants made since the last meeting, relating to WSJ/PROJ23, Development, Covid Recovery and District mergers.
County Secretary updated that one new Subject Access Request had been received.
A report was circulated on the outcome of Census and relevant data/ numbers. The G&D team will now be able to analyse this data to inform their planning.
