#Bounceback objectives progress:
Amalgamation project: The following was voted on and carried by the Board:
To close New Forest North and New Forest West and amalgamate to form a new district called ‘New Forest District’.
To close New Forest East and New Forest South and amalgamate to form a new district, name tbc.
Work is ongoing with Meon Valley and Petersfield Districts.
Four New DC’s have recently started in their new roles, with Eastleigh still waiting for an appropriate person to join.
Training: The Team are working hard on getting all overdue Wood Badges completed by the Sept deadline.
WSJ23 and PROJ23:
This has been given the go ahead and recruitment will start 01st July 2021.
With a big focus on inclusion this year, a Grant Fund is being created. The committee voted and unanimously approved the WSJ Grant proposal for both WSJ23 and PROJ23 trips.
The Board approved funding for the advance booking of the PROJ23 Haarlem Jamboree in Holland, to secure Hampshire Scouts places.
Policy Review:
The Committee reviewed and approved updated policies for the Staff Handbook and Data Protection. The Health and Safety policy will be reviewed in July.
Heritage:
Permanent humidifiers are now installed in the Heritage Centre at FC following issues with damp and mildew over the winter.
They are looking at secure lock-up storage, which is more cost effective than the current container hired.
Finance:
The Annual Trustee Report and Financial Statement was presented to the Board.
The County Treasurer requested that a previously unused reserve be repurposed to Ferny Crofts to cover some of the losses made as a result of the pandemic. This was unanimously supported by the Board and so was carried.
The Budget Report was presented to the Board for the 4 months up to 30th April, with little to note.
The County Chair was happy to confirm that County Treasurer Anthony Gosden has agreed to stay on for an additional 6 months whilst a replacement is sought.
Other news:
Reports were provided by all Teams, Cluster reports will be provided after the next set of Cluster meetings.
The County Commissioner welcomed Donna Bennett as the new County Advisor for the Squirrels. Donna will put together a team and work with Districts.
James Redfearn confirmed the new County Mobile Climbing Wall has arrived at FC and bookings have already been made by both scout Groups and Schools.
